This was a collection of signs I created for use on a 1/5 scale model of Main Street USA from the Disneyland Resort in musician and actor Bobby Sherman's backyard.
Bobby Sherman build a ⅕ scale replica of Main Street USA in his backyard in the 80s. Eventually, this model needed restoration. I was lucky enough to be a part of the team rebuilding the model from the ground up.
I was tasked with recreating these signs based on both past and present versions located in the storefronts on Main Street USA. I created them digitally from photo references, then sent them off to be printed at scale on vinyl and applied to a 1/5 scale model of Main Street USA.
This project is very special to me for multiple reasons. First, this was my first project with Pro Machina, a production company with a focus on miniatures and practical effects. Working with the team was truly amazing, and we’ve had the opportunity to work together on numerous exciting projects ever since.
The project was also special to me because Disneyland holds a special place in my heart, so much so that I created a 3D model of it on my own. In fact, that model is how I was discovered for this project. So, working on this project was also exciting because the subject was super close to my heart.
